This small lake is a only a couple of minutes from downtown Worcester. So for convenience, it can't be beat. The public beach, Indian Lake Beach, is posted "no windsurfing", but is only enforced when lifeguards are on duty, 1 July-14 August. Outside of this 45 day window, the Water Front Commission says they'll "look the other way." So despite the sign, you may sail here most of the year. The beach has a nice grassy rigging area and a sandy launch. Nonetheless, footwear is advised.

When Indian Lake Beach is unavailable, you may launch year 'round from Morgan Park at the southwest end of the lake. Members of the Indian Lake Yacht Club, 508-856-SAIL, have access to the club's launch and facilities.

Checkout the Indian Lake Yacht Club's website at www.freeyellow.com/members7/ilyc or email them at IndianLakeSailing@hotmail.com

Take Route I-290 to I-190 and take the first exit (Greendale Mall and Goldstar Boulevard). Make the first right with mall traffic (see sign for West Boylston Street). The road curves away from the mall to a "T" intersection. Turn left onto West Boylston Street and continue under the freeway. West Boylston then makes a sharp left turn and parallels the freeway. The second right (about 100 yards) is Clason Road. Follow Clason Road to the end (another 100 yards) where it ends in the parking lot.

The sensor is at the north end of the lake at the Indian Lake Yacht Club. West and northwest winds are severely blocked by trees. North and northeast winds are somewhat blocked by trees so reported gusts in these directions should approximate the average conditions you'll find on the water.
