.breezy southerly winds will develop today ahead of a cold front
that will cross the area tonight, with winds becoming northwest
behind the front. seas remain elevated north of ocracoke inlet,
and may build some as breezy conditions develop this afternoon
and evening. seas gradually subside late tonight and wednesday.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and/or seas of 6 feet or greater are expected to produce
hazardous wave conditions to small craft. inexperienced mariners,
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions.
