The campground provides an excellent alternative to the west-facing soundside spots to the north. Northeast winds will not push all of the water out into the sound like locations to the north. Therefore Frisco Woods provides a location where you will not blow out a finbox. Also, this location provides an east/west wind route out to the reef..Much longer distance to reef than North Avon/ Waves locations.
Shallow water great for learning.
Certfied instruction available on HiFly boards.
Site hosts a great event every April, the first and original WINDFEST.
Great site for all skill levels depending on wind speed and direction.
Soundfront camping March 1 to December 1; call 1-800-948-3942. Day use $5 per day. Check in at the campground office.
Site sponsored by the Barnett family, owners of Frisco Woods Campground. Thanks for supporting Iwindsurf!

This site is in Frisco on the right side of Route 12, the only road in town. Look for the new store by the highway.

This hi-res WeatherFlow sensor is located directly on the sound, about 100 yards offshore over-the-water. It is literally the best possible place for a sound-side reading and is unobstructed from all directions. Direction is not accurate. 11/19/2010
