the national weather service in jacksonville has issued an
* urban and small stream flood advisory for minor flooding of poor
drainage areas in...
western marion county in northern florida...
this includes the city of rainbow lakes estates...
* until 600 pm edt
* at 423 pm edt weather service doppler radar indicated heavy rain
from slow moving thunderstorms that will produce 2 to 4 inches of
rainfall late this afternoon across extreme southwestern marion
county along and west of u.s. highway 41 just to the west and
northwest of dunnellon and rainbow lakes estates.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams...and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.
do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. move to higher ground. remember...turn around dont drown.

the national weather service in jacksonville has issued an

central duval county in northeast florida...
* until 515 pm edt
* at 341 pm edt weather service doppler radar indicated heavy rain
from slow moving thunderstorms on the westside of jacksonville which
may produce 1 to 3 inches of rain late this afternoon. this will
mainly impact neighborhoods along and just west of the interstate
295 beltway on the westside of the jacksonville metro area.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
excessive runoff from these storms will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...highways...streets and underpasses.
additionally...country roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks
and streams and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.

...a river flood warning remains in effect for...cypress creek at worthington
gardens...
..runoff from heavy rains during the last few days combined with expected
additional storms today will allow for cypress creek to remain elevated
above flood stage. scattered showers and storms through the rest of the
week will keep the waters elevated into the weekend.

do not drive cars through flooded areas...

the cypress creek at worthington gardens
* until further notice
* at 09 am tuesday the stage was 8.7 feet
* flood stage is 8.0 feet
* the river will continue rising to near 8.8 feet by friday morning then begin
falling.
* impact...at 8.0 feet...flooding begins at the recreation area on state road
54.
* flood history...this crest compares to a previous crest of 8.8 feet on sep 30
2013.
