dangerous rip currents at the central florida atlantic beaches
today. while rips will be present all day, the threat will be 
highest after 1 pm due to tidal effects.

rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. to lessen you chances of being caught in the seaward pull
of a rip current, swim only within sight of a lifeguard, and heed
their advice. never swim alone.
