...gale warning remains in effect until 5 pm edt saturday...
...small craft advisory remains in effect from 5 pm edt saturday
to 10 am est sunday...
a gale warning remains in effect until 5 pm edt saturday. a small
craft advisory remains in effect from 5 pm edt saturday to 10 am
est sunday.
* peak winds: sustained winds north 25 to 30 knots with gusts to
35 to 40 knots late tonight night and saturday morning.
* seas: building to 5 to 10 feet nearshore...and 9 to 13 feet
offshore. waves occasionally reaching 17 feet well offshore.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a gale warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. it is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots...
and/or seas 7 feet or higher...are expected to produce hazardous
wave conditions to small craft. inexperienced mariners...
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions.
