...hazardous marine conditions expected this afternoon into 
tuesday with gale force winds and high seas possible tonight...

.as low pressure and severe weather threaten the southern plains,
the pressure gradient strengthens across the lower texas coast,
increasing southeasterly winds by mid to late this morning.
moderate to strong onshore flow continues through tuesday morning.
wind gusts across gulf of mexico waters are expected to reach 
gale force late this evening through tonight. expect rough bay
conditions by this afternoon through tuesday morning, and gulf seas
building to 6 to 10 feet by tonight.

craft advisory, which is in effect from 10 am this morning to
10 pm cdt this evening. a gale watch remains in effect from 10 pm
cdt this evening until 7 am cdt tuesday. 

* winds...southeast 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots
  today. southeast 25 to 30 knots with frequent gusts near 40
  knots tonight. 

* waves/seas...4 to 6 feet today, building to 6 to 10 feet with 
  occasional offshore seas up to 12 feet tonight into tuesday. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased...but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. it is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.

a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.

.interaction between high pressure extending across the gulf and 
a developing strong low pressure system over the central plains 
will result in development of strong southeasterly winds of near

early tuesday morning. additionally, expect for high seas to 
build up to near 6 to 10 feet with occasionally higher seas.
