  40 kt around cape mendocino. winds will diminish tonight.
 
* seas...9 to 12 ft this morning including...n 9 to 11 ft around 8
  seconds and nw 5 to 6 ft at 14 seconds. these will diminish
  slowly today and tonight.

a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

* seas...wind driven and mixed with light west swell that will
  result in steep combined seas at 6 to 8 feet through early 
  sunday morning. 

* areas affected...the strongest winds and steepest seas will
  occur south of gold beach beyond 3 nm from shore...especially 
  this afternoon and evening.
