...high surf advisory for north and west facing shores...

surf along north facing shores will be 12 to 16 feet today, lowering
to 6 to 10 feet tonight, then rapidly building to 14 to 18 feet
wednesday.

surf along west facing shores will be 8 to 12 feet today, lowering to
4 to 7 feet tonight, then rapidly building to 9 to 13 feet wednesday.

surf along east facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet through wednesday.

surf along south facing shores will be 2 feet or less through
wednesday.

outlook through tuesday march 26:
surf along north and west facing shores will remain up around advisory
levels through much of the week and into the upcoming weekend as
several overlapping long-period northwest swells move through. surf
may briefly dip below the advisory thresholds tonight, before rapidly
building to advisory levels again on wednesday. surf along east facing
shores will build late in the week through the weekend as strong
trades return. south shore surf is expected to remain small through
early next week.

surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. the
surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average
height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest
breakers. some waves may be more than twice as high as the
significant wave height. expect to encounter rip currents in or near
any surf zone.
