Plymouth Overview
The Plymouth, WA area is south of the Tri-Cities and just a few miles downstream from McNary dam. The access and sailing is typical of most Gorge sites with rugged shorelines and fast high-wind action. Despite the good sailing, Plymouth is one of the Gorge sites that does not experience crowded sailing.
Plymouth offers high-wind sailing year round. It lights up any time a larger weather system crosses the Columbia basin and moves eastward into Idaho.
The water conditions are similar to The Wall/Rufus area since the current is always moderately swift. The swell is fairly consistent at five to six feet, tight, and steep. Swell orientation is consistent for wind direction ranging from southwest to west. This results in effortless port ramps when the wind direction is southwesterly.

Sensor Notes
The sensor at Plymouth is located on a 30 ft pole just west of the main launch area. Located fairly close to the water's edge, it has shown to accurately reflect on-water wind speeds during a typical Gorge westerly.
