waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 29.8 inch low over the upper great lakes will move
southeast across new york state this afternoon, before sliding off 
the east coast tonight. a 30.0 inch high will then build across the 
lake saturday, before a 29.6 inch low crosses the lower great lakes 
sunday and slides off the mid-atlantic coast monday. a 30.4 inch 
high is forecast to build across the upper great lakes monday, and 
the lower great lakes tuesday.

rain with snow likely late this morning, then rain early this
