waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...high pressure of 30.3 inches will continue to build 
to 30.4 inches as it drifts southeastward to northern new england 
by later today. meanwhile, a 29.4 inch low over western north 
dakota will lift northeastward, reaching the hudson bay tonight. an 
associated 29.8 inch low pressure trough crossing northern 
minnesota today will dissipate as it moves over lake superior on 
thursday. 30.1 inch ridging will return to the upper great lakes 
thursday night and friday while a low pressure trough of 29.7 
inches moves out over the northern plains. this trough will 
organize into a 29.2 inch low as it travels northeast across 
manitoba on saturday, dragging a 29.6 inch trough across lake 
superior late saturday and through the day sunday.
