waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 30.0 inch trough will move through the upper great 
lakes tonight. thursday, the upper great lakes will be on the
northern edge of an expansive area of high pressure extending 
from new england to the central plains. this area will extend a 
30.1 inch ridge over the region during the day before a 29.9 inch 
trough crosses lake superior in the evening hours. high pressure 
of 30.4 inches will stretch across the upper great lakes friday, 
building to 30.6 inches friday evening as it moves into southern 
ontario. saturday into sunday, this high will shift eastward into 
new england. on monday, another trough will approach the region 
from the west.

35 knots by late morning, then backing southwest by mid
afternoon. waves building to 7 to 10 feet occasionally to
13 feet. 
.thursday night...west gales to 35 knots becoming northwest 15 to
25 knots by midnight, then diminishing to 10 to 20 knots late.
waves subsiding to 2 to 4 feet.
