  wabash river at riverton, hutsonville, terre haute, covington, and 
  montezuma.


.rainfall over the weekend caused widespread minor flooding along 
the wabash river. minor flooding is expected to continue for most 
sites through the week. the crest of the wabash friday evening was 
near terre haute, and is expected to reach riverton later this 
weekend.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

* forecast...the river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.9 feet 
  sunday morning. it will then fall below flood stage early tuesday 
  afternoon.
* impact...at 16.0 feet, some agricultural lands underwater.  a few 
  rural roads in crawford county, illinois close as water backs up 
  minnow slough.  high water affects campground at leaverton park in 
  palestine.  a few private roads near the gill township levee in 
  sullivan county may flood.  water level is at the top of most 
  makeshift levees.

  morning.
* impact...at 18.0 feet, seep water occurs behind levees on indiana 
  side.  hutson creek begins to overflow from backwater.  old darwin 
  road and a few rural roads in eastern clark and crawford counties 
  in illinois are impassable.  low agricultural land floods.
