Tybee "South End" is the most popular kiting spot on the island, especially for the south winds which are prevalent in the summer. Incoming tides kill the power, but once the current reverses it works well with the wind direction for an epic afternoon session. Wind can come from any direction during most of the year, and the lay-of-the-land allows for good kiting in NE,E,SE,S,SW wind directions. A good understanding of tides and rip currents is critical for this area. Local Expert? edit Edit this Page!
