waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 29.7 inch low will move across lake huron by late 
tonight, then exit the region across the saint lawrence valley on
thursday. a 30.4 inch high centered over the canadian prairies 
thursday night will build across the great lakes region friday and
friday night. an area of low pressure near 29.7 inches saturday 
over the central plains will rapidly deepen to 28.8 inches by 
sunday night as it crosses through the central great lakes and 
into southern ontario canada.

.overnight...south winds 15 to 25 knots becoming southwest.
rain and freezing rain, then rain likely late.
waves 3 to 5 feet. 
.thursday...west winds to 30 knots. a chance of rain and snow
showers early. waves 7 to 11 feet. waves occasionally around
14 feet. 
.thursday night...west winds to 30 knots becoming northwest 15 to
25 knots. waves 7 to 10 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet. waves
occasionally around 13 feet. 
.friday...northwest winds 5 to 15 knots becoming west. waves 1 to
3 feet. 
.friday night...west winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southeast.
waves 2 feet or less. 
.saturday...southeast winds 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to
20 knots. a chance of rain during the day, then rain saturday
night. waves 1 to 3 feet. 
.sunday...south winds to 30 knots becoming west and increasing to
45 knot gales. rain showers during the day, then rain and snow
showers likely sunday night. waves 2 to 4 feet building to 11 to
16 feet. waves occasionally around 20 feet. 
.monday...west gales to 40 knots becoming northwest and
diminishing to 15 to 20 knots. a chance of snow showers during
the day. waves 11 to 15 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet. waves
occasionally around 19 feet.
