waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...weak low pressure of 29.90 inches will move east 
across lake erie tonight, reaching the mid-atlantic on thursday. a
trough averaging 29.70 inches will pull a cold front south across
lake erie on friday as low pressure deepens to 29.30 inches off 
the new england coast. high pressure 30.40 inches over the upper 
great lakes friday night will slowly move to the southeastern
states through sunday. a slow moving frontal boundary will settle
south across the great lakes on monday.

is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.synopsis...

a cold front will move across lake michigan into this evening, 
then southeast of the lake later tonight, as low pressure of 29.8
inches moves from northeast wisconsin to northwest ohio.

south to southwest winds ahead of the front will veer northwest 
to north behind it. 

another cold front will move southeast through the region later
thursday into thursday night. gusty north to northwest winds are 
expected behind the frontal passage thursday night into friday, 
with some gales possible during this period.

high pressure of 30.4 inches will then move from the northern
plains into the western great lakes region friday into saturday, 
bringing weaker winds by saturday.
