Coldwater Overview

June 18, 2011 — Coldwater is a 1610 acre lake in south central Michigan. Best kiting is with winds from the NW, W and SW. There's a good shoreline along the eastern edge of the lake that is shallow for most of it's length. There's also a large waist deep sandbar in the middle of the lake for taking a break or waiting for the next gust.

Data from this station is courtesy of the National Weather Service (NWS). Lake winds are different on each lake with Coldwater usually blowing strongest, seem to run approx. 5-8 mph stronger than stated by iKite reports, which I believe comes from the local airport which is 10 miles north of the lake.
