For NW winds North beach is best. Grass field launch sometimes a little tricky if blowing more west than north west. Watch the tidal currents. Best at end of flood and beginning of ebb. an hour before high tide is good time to start. Often great waves and swell to surf and jump. Wind is best in the evening.
kelp gets thicker as summer progresses.

SE winds The beach at Fort Warden is great. Wind is diagonal to the beach watch the currents once again best to stay well south of Point Wilson flood or ebb! SE winds can die and switch to SW or W so watch your forecast.
