Best kept secret in Colorado. Known for big winds and wake, yet protected coves work well for entry level sailors. Watch for rocks and other under water obstacles, especially near the aptly named Rocky Ridge campsites (near entrance). Stoll Mountain parking area is a gem -- grassy rigging area, sandy shoreline, and great safety net for prevailing winds from west. "Boaters (particularly sailors) find their skills fully tested by the tricky winds and fast rising storms that can occur here. Storms can develop quickly at Eleven Mile bringing sudden strong winds and high waves that can be hazardous to small craft." Great fun! Daily or annual Colorado State Park pass required.
