There is no launch site at Turkey Point but there is 2 miles north at Biscayne National Park. Some launch at the adjacent Homestead Bay Front Park ($6.00 admission) on a south wind.

Best sailing wind directions are from NW to East. Southeast is good once you are out of the wind shadow at the launch site.

Water depth is about shoulder deep for a mile in all directions with no significant hazards. This makes this area particularly good for intermediates who work on water starts or miss a lot of jibes.
