open lake forecast for lake erie
national weather service cleveland oh
929 pm edt fri jun 13 2025

for waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on lake erie

waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...
a ridge averaging 30.00 inches persists over the northern great
lakes and upper saint lawrence river valley through this sunday
and attempts to build over lake erie. elsewhere, a front wavers in
a north-south manner in vicinity of central ohio through saturday
as weak lows move generally eastward along the front. the front
should shift southward toward the mid ohio valley and vicinity on
sunday through monday as a stronger frontal low of 29.90 inches
moves from the mid ohio valley toward atlantic waters east of the
delmarva peninsula. accordingly, the aforementioned ridge
averaging 30.00 inches should build southward over lake erie. the
ridge should exit generally eastward monday night through
wednesday as a low moves from eastern colorado toward the upper
mississippi valley and deepens to around 29.40 inches. this low
track should allow a warm front to sweep northeastward across lake
erie this monday night.
